User Data Deletion
There are two ways to remove data from PipelineDM: disconnect your Instagram account in the app, or email us to request full deletion. This page explains exactly what each option does.

Overview
Disconnecting Instagram is immediate and stops syncing, but it keeps the conversations and messages that were already synced. Full deletion removes your account, workspace, Instagram connection, conversations, messages, stored webhook payloads and sessions.
Disconnect Instagram in the app
- Sign in to PipelineDM.
- Open Settings and then Instagram.
- Select Disconnect.
Disconnecting does the following:
- Stops new conversations and messages from syncing.
- Marks the Instagram connection as disconnected.
- Deletes the stored Instagram access token. You will need to authorise the account again to reconnect.
Disconnecting does not delete conversations or messages that were already synced. They remain in your workspace and can still be viewed. To remove them, request full deletion by email using the steps below.
Request full deletion by email
Email support@pipelinedm.app with the subject line “Data deletion request”. Please include:
- The Instagram username connected to the workspace.
- The email address on the account, or a note that the account has no email address.
- The workspace name, if you know it.
Send the request from the email address on the account where possible. We may need to verify that you own the account before deleting anything, for example by asking you to confirm from the account email or by confirming control of the connected Instagram account. This protects your data from unauthorised deletion.
We will action a verified request within 30 days and confirm by email when it is complete.
What full deletion removes
A completed full deletion request removes the following from our active database:
- Your account record, including your name, optional email and Instagram-scoped user id.
- Your workspace and your membership of it.
- The Instagram connection record, including the username, profile information, granted scopes, connection timestamps, status and the encrypted access token.
- Conversations and messages, including participant ids and usernames, message text, message ids and timestamps.
- Stored webhook payloads associated with your connected Instagram account.
- Session records, including refresh-token hashes, expiry, user agent and IP address.
- Short-lived sign-in handoff records created during Instagram auth.
Residual copies may remain in infrastructure backups for a limited period before they age out. We may keep a limited record of the request where required by law or to prevent fraud.
Data inside Instagram
Deleting data in PipelineDM has no effect on Instagram. Messages, conversations and profile information stored by Instagram remain there, and deleting them is done inside Instagram or through Meta's own tools.
Likewise, deleting a conversation in Instagram does not automatically delete a copy that was already synced to PipelineDM. Use the full deletion request above for that. Meta's own records are governed by Meta's privacy policy, not by us.
Automated Meta requests
PipelineDM does not currently implement Meta's automated data-deletion callback. A deletion request submitted through Meta's tools will not be delivered to us automatically. Please email us directly using the steps above so we can action it.
